After an extensive renovation, the Park Slope Library has at long last reopened its doors! This neighborhood branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, at 431 Sixth Ave. between Eighth and Ninth Streets, offers exciting new opportunities for reading and learning, for both young and not-so-young. (Read more about Opening Day in an incoming Civic News article.)

You can help make sure that the library remains a beloved space and an important resource for Park Slope. The Park Slope Civic Council and City Councilmember Brad Lander are planning a “friends group” for the Park Slope Library. Such a group could:

  • Raise awareness and enthusiasm about the local library
  • Promote the library’s resources and programs
  • Keep local officials aware of the library’s importance
  • Raise funds to enhance local library service

Join us on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6:30 p.m., at the library to you can be more involved with your “new” library. For more information, contact Catherine Zinnel at Councilmember Lander’s District Office, 718.499.1090 or czinnel@council.nyc.gov.
