Park Slope Pub Crawl

Welcome to the Livable Streets

‘Pin Drop Until You Drop’ Pub Crawl and Data Collection Project

Join the Park Slope Civic Council, Livable Streets Committee as we pub crawl our way through the neighborhood to collect data on our streets and sidewalks. And maybe more importantly, make new friends! We will meet at Die Koelner Bierhalle on St. Marks Place on April 26th at 2:30PM and begin to wind our way through the neighborhood.

The purpose is to have fun while identifying areas for improvement on our streets and sidewalks to build a neighborhood inventory map. So pin drop until you drop your way through Park Slope!

What are we looking for? Street and sidewalk conditions. The idea is to build a map identifying where we might add new street and sidewalk items or where things already exist.

Benches Help us map where benches exist or places where they might be beneficial. An example might be a bus stop that has no place for a person to sit while waiting for a bus.Untitled1
Bike Corrals Help us map where bike corrals exist or places where one might be beneficial. An example might be located next to a business where several bikes are locked to meters, trees, or street signs and a bike corral would clearly be useful.Untitled2
Bike Lanes Help us map where bike lanes exist or a street segment where one might be beneficial. An example might be a street segment with lots of bikers riding on the street or sidewalk that currently has no bike lane.Untitled3
Curb Outs Help us map where curb outs exist or places where one might be beneficial. An example might be a busy intersection where people are trying to cross the street with heavy vehicular traffic.Untitled4
Empty Street Beds  Help us map where empty tree beds exist. An example might be a tree bed with no tree or a stump where clearly a tree would be better.Untitled5
Large Sidewalk Planters Help us map where large planters exist or places where one might be beneficial. An example might be street areas where a buffer between traffic and the sidewalk might be helpful (e.g. in front of a school), or where pedestrian plazas might help buffer people from traffic.Untitled6
Speed Humps  Help us map where speed humps exist or places where one might be beneficial. An example might be the middle point of a street segment that has a lot of fast moving vehicular traffic.Untitled7
And anything else worthy of capturing! Anything else you notice that we might benefit from improving or should note. Feel free to tag anything, and add a comment to let us know what you see. You can also add a photo!
