JINGLE BELL JAMBOREE

RETURNS TO ‘OLD FIRST’ IN PARK SLOPE

Saturday, Dec 14th 2019 at 7pm

After a 4 year hiatus, the annual Park Slope family concert and sing-a-long is returning to Old First Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Founder and producer Ethan Schlesser along with his long time co-host Rev. Dr. Daniel Meeter wanted to bring back this unique community holiday extravaganza after the ceiling in the sanctuary was finally restored. The 2019 Jamboree will feature performances from a variety of Brooklyn based musical ensembles including: Purelements: An Evolution in Dance, The St. Joseph High School Step Team, The Nine Pound Hammer Trio, The New Voices 8th grade chorus, The BCC Cabaret, & The Brooklyn Community Chorus.  In addition, Schlesser and Meeter host a festive sing-a-long throughout the show, including the Grande Finale:  The 12 Days of Christmas being performed by the entire audience!  There will also be a special tribute to Pastor Daniel Meeter who is retiring next year.

Initially created as a way to bring healing and the community together after 9/11 in 2001, the Jamboree was moved to nearby Beth Elohim after it’s 10 year run at Old First as Old First’s sanctuary was in need of ceiling repairs. The Jamboree is sponsored by the Park Slope Civic Council, Park Slope Parents, Congregation Beth Elohim and Old First Reformed Church.  For the performance, there is a $10 suggested donation.  100% of the proceeds go towards expenses and to the non-profit arts organizations participating in the concert that provide services to our community.  Schlesser adds, “The Jamboree RETURNS – it will be our 16th concert and I’m looking forward to all the fun and joy!  Take a break from the holiday stress and come to the big show at Old First’s beautifully restored sanctuary.  It’s a great way to be a part of the festive spirit!”

The Jingle Bell Jamboree will take place on Saturday, Dec 14th 2019 at 7pm

Old First Church is located on 7th Ave and Carroll St. in Park Slope, Bklyn
