Responsible Development

The Park Slope Civic Council advocates for responsible development that protects neighborhood character, promotes equitable growth, and ensures thoughtful planning for the future. Our work includes active engagement in major rezoning and land-use processes such as the Gowanus rezoning and the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park development, where we review proposals, collaborate with community stakeholders, and push for transparency, sustainability, and meaningful public input. Beyond these high-profile projects, we monitor zoning actions large and small, champion policies that strengthen livability, and work to ensure that development in and around Park Slope supports a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive community.
