Help with a Pop-up Installation and Community Outreach (think fun, colorful, engaging) outside the 4th Ave/ 9th St station on Friday November 21st

Who:
Join PSCC, Park Slope Neighbors, Arts Gowanus, the Fifth Avenue Committee, Make Brooklyn Safer and Transportation Alternatives to create a “fantasy” station with paper and canvas props, costumes and portable lights to draw attention to the dismal conditions at 4th Avenue – 9th Street subway station.

What:
The installation will include mock-ups of street-level shops, PVC bike racks, way-finding signage and brighter lighting, plus ways for the community to provide feedback and discuss ideas on improving the transit experience. We are inviting elected officials and city agencies to take part and provide updates on long-delayed renovations. We want to make sure that future plans make the streetscape safer and more livable. We will be careful not to block our fellow commuters or to create any hazardous conditions for them. This activity is about imagining a bright future.

Help us make it happen – ATTEND our one remaining* Prop-making and Planning Workshop

Where and When:

(Fifth Ave Committee offices, 621 Degraw btw 3rd/4th Ave)

*The first (of 2) workshops was held on Sunday Nov. 9, and here are some photos taken at it – they should give you an even better idea as to what we’re going for AND how much FUN it’s going to be!
