Amanda McAvena, Trustee and Food For Thought Co-Chair
Amanda McAvena is a Trustee of the Civic Council where she co-chairs the annual Food For Thought event to raise money for high school scholarships and has been a member of the Civic Council for the last several years.
Amanda has called Brooklyn home for over a decade, living in Williamsburg and settling in Park Slope where she purchased a co-op and serves on the board as the Treasurer. Before joining Compass Real Estate, Amanda spent over 8 years working in the advertising industry on several Fortune 100 brands and applies the same strategies and marketing principles to the properties she represents.
Amanda has also been part of a top producing team nationally and helped to plan and launch several new developments. This volume of transactions provided insight across all aspects of the real estate process. Amanda’s eye for value has also made her a sought-after resource for many investors who she works with to find undervalued properties that provide high returns.
Originally from Minnesota, Amanda has a true appreciation for Prospect Park and the historic brownstones in Brooklyn. She has a passion for the construction and renovating process and has been continually updating her apartment. She loves helping buyers and sellers understand what projects will add the most value to a home and how to transform a space.
