Giant puppets cascaded down Seventh Avenue as masked revelers cheered them on during the 24th Annual Park Slope Civic Council Halloween Parade, on Sunday, Oct. 31.
It was a beautiful fall night to watch a rolling bed with giant bed bugs attacking the child in it, the 5th Street Samba Society, Paprika, and of course the pirate ship and confetti canon. The parade turned west on Third Street to end at Washington Park, where the bands continued to play in back of the Old Stone House while people milled about the enchanted forest created by Chris Schneider especially for the event.
Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Park Slope parade. The Civic Council is looking for creative and exciting ways to celebrate, as well as new voices and energy to bring to the parade. If you are interested in helping out, please e-mail halloween@parkslopeciviccouncil.org and get involved!
Finally, our sponsors made these great events possible, so be sure to shop local and say thanks to our sponsors.
