A Message From Our Trustees

To our members, readers and community:

The Park Slope Civic Council sends positive thoughts to you and our Brooklyn neighbors during these difficult times. We hope that you and your loved ones are well. Given that we are practicing our “social distancing”, we are postponing or suspending all of our near-term events. We would like to share with you that until further notice, the Civic Council will indefinitely suspend all previously scheduled live, interactive activities and events.

Most immediately, this includes our Civic Sweep event, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Washington Park, as well as our next general meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 7pm at the Old Stone House.

Our Annual House Tour, originally scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2020 has been suspended this season. It was also recently determined that our annual scholarship fundraiser, Food For Thought, originally scheduled forWednesday, October 21, 2020, will be suspended until further notice. Although the suspension of both of these events is very disappointing, we look forward to returning to these wonderful traditions in 2021!

Additionally, the publication date of our bi-annual newsletter, originally scheduled for release in early May of 2020, has been tabled indefinitely as well. We are hopeful that a late summer/early fall publication will be in our future.

The Civic Council trustees, committees and subcommittees will continue to work behind the scenes planning for future activities and initiatives. We will do our best to keep you abreast of any new developments as they arise.

Thank you for your interest in the Civic Council and for all that you do to make it a thriving, engaged, and inclusive organization.

Take care and stay well.
The Trustees of the Park Slope Civic Council
