Our Fall Civic Sweep was a huge success. We had over 50 volunteers help us clean up and beautify our neighborhood over the course of the day by picking up trash and helping maintain tree beds with Big Reuse. We filled over 30 trash bags with garbage from the streets, we collected over 4 pallets worth of e-waste in partnership with LES Ecology Center, we collected 22 large bags full of hundreds of gently used coats, sweaters, and jackets for those in need at the Hall Street Center, AND we spread good cheer around the neighborhood on a busy, beautiful fall Saturday by handing out daffodil bulbs from New Yorkers for Parks. We also gave out large paper recycling bags for those raking up leaves at their home.
PSCC met dozens of local residents, and several people signed up to become new members of the Civic Council. And we sold some of our tree care signs.
Stay tuned for our next Civic Sweep, which will be held in April.
