The Committee on Trustees (COT) is responsible for the management of recruitment, and nomination of new members to the Park Slope Civic Council’s Board of Trustees and for assuring leadership succession. In fulfilling this responsibility, the COT is expected to develop a fair process for nomination and election of trustees and officers, as well as to ensure that the process is clear to the general membership and current trustees. The committee also recommends membership criteria for all levels of involvement with the Board of Trustees.
The COT is responsible for board development, including orientation, mentoring, and retention of current members of the board. Board development may include board retreats or other educational, training, or planning sessions held in addition to regular board meetings.
Members of this committee assist and advise the president of the Civic Council in assessing the board organization, operation, membership, and attendance to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Board.
