Street tree in need of care

Trees do so much for our community—cleaning our air, cooling our streets, and protecting us from flooding. But city life is tough on them, and they need our help to thrive.

That’s why the Park Slope Civic Council is joining the District 39 Tree Care Initiative, a community effort led by Council Member Shahana Hanif’s office and Big Reuse. Together, we’ll share practical, sustainable gardening tips while giving much-needed care to local tree beds—plus, you’ll learn simple skills you can use to nurture the trees right outside your own home.
