PSCC is looking for a FEW GOOD Trustees!

The Park Slope Civic Council wants you! We are looking for Civic Council members to serve on our Board of Trustees. It’s a great opportunity to work with your neighbors. Moreover, being a Trustee provides outlets for your energy and talents for a very good cause: to ensure that Park Slope not only remains one of the greatest urban neighborhoods in the United States, but becomes an even better place to live, work, raise a family, shop and entertain.

PSCC has been dedicated to improving Park Slope since 1896, and our efforts continue today! These are some of the ways we pursue our goal:

  • Annual Core Events: House Tour, Halloween Parade, Civic Sweep, Toys for Tots, Mulchfest, and Food for Thought Fundraiser
  • Community-Building Activities: Grants to local organizations, Scholarships for high school seniors, Forums on subjects of community interest, and the Ortner Preservation Awards
  • Advocacy: Expansion of the Historic District, transforming Fourth Avenue, fighting for an affordable neighborhood supermarket, supporting small businesses

In June 2017, PSCC’s members will elect new trustees. New trustees can serve up to three consecutive 3-year terms. In addition to attending regular monthly September-to-June board meetings, trustees serve on at least one standing committee. To be eligible to be a trustee, an individual must be up-to-date on his/her membership dues and have been a member for the 3 months prior to the June Annual Meeting.

Please click here to access a 2017 nomination form to the Board of Trustees. Simply complete the form, attach a resume, and return it to nominations@parkslopeciviccouncil.org or mail the package to our address by February 15, 2017. A member of the Committee on Trustees will then be in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you. AND, PLEASE, if you feel compelled to say, “Let Janet (or George) do it,” please take the obvious next step – reach out to that person and send them this link!
