DOS Safe Disposal Recycling productsThe city’s Department of Sanitation is holding disposal events this spring in Brooklyn and the other boroughs that will give residents a one-stop spot to get rid of  “SAFE” products — solvents, automotive, flammable, and electronic goods, all of which are in reality potentially harmful items found around the house.

The local event will take place Sunday, April 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at  Prospect Park’s Park Circle, corner of Parkside Ave and Prospect Park Southwest. The department’s website lists locations for the other boroughs and ways to dispose of these goods if you can’t attend.
