The Yarn Bomb is Back!

Join us for a fun, socially-distanced celebration of art and community! Yarn bombing is a form of street art that uses knitted or crocheted objects to decorate public spaces. The theme of this year’s yarn bomb is Protecting the Earth and Climate Change.

The event kicks off on Wednesday, August 11th from 6:00-8:00pm with Yarn Bomber and Fiber Artist Ellie d’Eustachio (IG: madebyelliebklyn). A Brooklyn-based designer and folk artist, Ellie will teach us shaped knitting techniques.

The Bomb continues every Wednesday during August and September from 5:00-7:00pm, when we’ll gather to knit/crochet/craft together.

Finished materials will be installed along the 4th Ave fence at Washington Park between 3rd and 4th Street in Brooklyn on the weekend of October 2nd-3rd. Details TBA.

All sessions will take place outdoors in the North Garden of the Old Stone House park (5th Ave between 3rd and 4th Street). If you can’t join us in person you’re welcome to participate at home and drop-off your crafted materials prior to installation.

If you have any questions or comments, please email Grace Freedman or SJ Avery at fofa@parkslopeciviccouncil.org. We look forward to seeing you there!
