Linda Wilson

Linda Wilson,  Former Second Vice President

Linda is a third-generation Brooklynite. She was born in Park Slope and has lived in the area for her entire life. Linda and her husband have raised their six children in Park Slope. Together, they have enjoyed the many amenities which the neighborhood has to offer—including great schools, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Nighthawk Cinema, diverse cuisines and the Park Slope Civic Council’s (PSCC) incomparable annual Halloween Parade. Linda considers the Park Slope neighborhood to be a gift that keeps on giving. Linda embraces the concept: to whom much is given, much is required. This value, as well as the collegiality of long-standing members of the Park Slope Civic Council, is what prompted her to join the PSCC.

Upon joining the Executive Board of the PSCC, Linda has set out to continue the work of her dedicated predecessors. Linda is a member of PSCC’s Arts Committee, ArtSlope, and she looks forward to ushering in a new crop of short films to exhibit at future iterations of our successful film festival, Shorts in the Slope, and supporting other fun and creative outlets in our community. Linda is also committed to advancing community dialogues and events that promote inclusivity, wellness, civic engagement, diversity of thought, empathy for others and respect for all who are present within the greater Park Slope area.

Professionally, Linda is an attorney and a career public servant. Upon receiving her undergraduate degree in politics from New York University and her law degree from Columbia University School of Law, Linda became a court attorney for the New York State Unified Courts. Linda has either worked or volunteered in nearly every level of court in New York State and is a tireless advocate for equity and equal justice.

As a member of PSCC’s Executive Board, Linda endeavors to lend her ideas, voice and time to ensure that the PSCC continues to strive to improve the Park Slope community so that those who are present in and around Park Slope may continue to thrive together.
