Nan Sussman, Trustee
Nan has lived in Park Slope for 35 years and raised her two children here. She has participated and enjoyed many of the Park Slope Civic Council’s events, in particular the Halloween Parade, the house tours, and Civic Sweep. She has been active in community organizations, most notably serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for 15 years, and served as Chairman of the Board during its capital campaign and building expansion. Nan is a strong advocate for community development including support of other not-for-profit neighborhood groups and our local schools and students. She has advocated for increased funding for the neighborhood from the City Council, the Mayor’s office and other elected officials. She loves introducing visitors to the history of our neighborhood and developed and gives walking tours of Park Slope and Brooklyn as a “greeter” in the Big Apple Greeter organization.
