Tania Tavira, Trustee
Tania is a Park Slope resident who has had the privilege of not only growing up in this neighborhood but also the privilege of raising her college bound daughter here. Three years ago, she saw a post on the Nextdoor app asking for neighbors to volunteer to help put together the annual Park Slope Halloween Parade. When she saw the post, her heart skipped a beat because this parade means the world to her. Tania moved to the neighborhood in 1991, three days before that year’s parade ,and the absolute joy she felt seeing her new neighbors celebrating Halloween as a community left a huge impact on her. She has yet to miss a single parade.
Cut to 2024, and now the honor of putting the parade together has fallen on her. iI is a dream come true, and she wants to make it bigger and more fabulous every single year.
Tania carries the love of Park Slope on her sleeve. She wants to continue to give back to the community that embraced her and her daughter.
