Stephen Painter, Former Trustee
Stephen Painter is a North Carolina native who moved to Park Slope with his husband in 2006. When he’s not enjoying the flora and fauna of Prospect Park or exploring the neighborhood, he plays violin in the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra. Stephen has served on the orchestra’s Board of Directors since 2008, including as President and Treasurer. During the day, Stephen is an Enforcement Attorney at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission where he investigates and prosecutes illegal conduct in the nation’s commodities markets. His cases involve everything from complex market manipulation schemes by large banks to Ponzi schemes that victimize small investors. Stephen hopes that his work on the Council will help make Park Slope an even more amazing place to live.
