The Park Slope Civic Council once again teamed up with the Prospect Park Alliance to turn over 1200 Christmas trees into scented mulch.
On January 6, trustees and members removed tinsel and piled trees up for the chipper, helped bag up mulch to take home, and handed out hot chocolate and snacks.
The mulch is great for protecting tree beds in the neighborhood.
Trustee Ira Mont and his son, Henry, drove around Park Slope picking up discarded trees and bringing them to Prospect Park.
