The MTA is now beginning a series of open houses as a part of its Brooklyn Bus Network Redesign. This is our chance to restore the east-west connection that you’ve fought for since the B71 was cut in 2010. As a part of the recently announced action plan to improve bus service, the MTA and the DOT are considering holistic changes to the entire Brooklyn Bus Network. This process is already underway or complete in Staten Island, Queens, and the Bronx. The planning phase includes community engagement and research into service gaps and unmet needs, and we need to make sure that they hear our call to Bring Back the B71 loud and clear.
The MTA is having an open house currently in affected neighborhoods*, when they’ll hear about community priorities. The open house in Park Slope is scheduled for November 12: Park Slope Library (431 6th Ave), 6-8pm
