Key Food on 5th Avenue, Brooklyn

Avery Hall Investments (AHI) is working with New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the NYC agency that administers Urban Renewal Plans, to complete the Urban Renewal Plan minor modification process that was formally approved in 2017 and is also going through the NYC Buildings Department’s new building permit preliminary review process. The project design presented to the community has not changed. AHI expects to have a revised demolition schedule to announce to the community by the end of the summer of 2018 and will provide a minimum of 2 to 3 months’ notice before any demolition will begin. Additionally, AHI will begin the communication process outlined in the Cooperation Agreement that several local community groups finalized with AHI in March 2017 also 2 to 3 months in advance of any demolition. AHI will coordinate with the current Key Food supermarket regarding their vacating previous to demolition and will inform the community when that timeline is known.
